JUNIOR ACADEMY

WHAT IS THE JUNIOR ACADEMY?

The Inter Orlando Junior Academy is specifically designed to provide players between the ages of 12– 16 years old the opportunity to develop their technical, tactical, physical, and psychological skills.

At Inter Orlando Academy, we strongly believe that there needs to be a clear pathway that is outlined by the organization, in order to allow a player to develop correctly.

Within our Junior Academy, players will experience the exact same training regime that the players on our Senior Pro Academy will receive. PLAYER DEVELOPMENT

WHY WE FOCUS ON PLAYER DEVELOPMENT

Inter Orlando Academy is classed as a Professional Developmental Academy. At the root of everything we do is Player Development. We firmly believe that every player deserves the appropriate coaching and education in order for them to reach the next level.

Our staff will constantly monitor all of our players in the Junior Academy to make sure that every player is progressing correctly and in their own pace.

PLAYER DEVELOPMENT

ENCOURAGING PLAYING UP AGE GROUPS

We also believe that players should not be limited or restricted in their development by keeping them stuck in their own age range. Our staff firmly believe that if a player is excelling at a certain age group, and his continued development is being hindered, then that player will be encouraged to move up into the next age group (For example moving from U13 – U14).

The reason we do this is to constantly keep our players focused on their own development. If the player is superior on a technical level at the U13 level, by moving them to the U14 level will present them with different challenges such as physicality, speed of play, and tactical understanding.

By allowing our players to experience these challenges, will only help them with their development and ultimately keep them humble and hungry to keep working hard to achieve their goals.

PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT PLANS (PDP)

WHAT IS A PDP?

Each player at Inter Orlando Academy will receive their own Personal Development Plan or PDP.

The PDP will outline a player's Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats to their game in order to help the player identify the areas that they need to improve on.

WHY IS A PDP IMPORTANT?

The PDP is a vital part of player development at Inter Orlando Academy and players will carry this throughout their time with the Academy.

Both players and staff will have direct online access to the PDPs and will be able to access them at any time throughout the season.

PROGRESS REPORTS & PLAYER EVALUATION MEETINGS

Feedback is crucial in development, not just from Coaches to players, but from Players to Coaches also.

Players at Inter Orlando Academy will be required to fill out their own monthly progress reports online. We believe it is vital that the players are able to assess their own performances/development and provide the coaching staff with their own assessments.

During the Player Evaluation Meetings, Coaches and Players will exchange their assessments and discuss the results openly.

We believe that the feedback provided in these meetings becomes the foundation for the players' future development for the upcoming month(s).

At the following Player Evaluation Meeting, if the players/coaches/or both agree that the player has not improved in a certain area, then a specific plan will be designed and implemented to make sure that the players' development is not affected.
